Explanation of the construction: The Golden Rectangle has sides whose lengths are in the Golden Ratio, (1+sqrt(5))/2. The Pythagorean Theorem gives the length of the diagonal as sqrt(5)/2, and AM is 1/2, so the sum of AM and MF is the Golden Ratio, AC. Then it just remains to complete the rectangle.
